Downloads
android-nfc-bridge-windows-x64.exe: Windows x64 desktop client. Offers to download/install the signed usbip-win2 virtual host and repair the accessory's WinUSB binding when needed. Driver setup requires administrator approval; test signing is not required.android-nfc-bridge-linux-x64: Linux x64 desktop client, requiring glibc 2.34 or newer, pcscd, vsmartcard and USB permissions. Make the downloaded binary executable withchmod +x.android-nfc-bridge-debug.apk: Android 8.0+ application, debug-signed development build. Enable NFC, keep the phone unlocked and the status activity visible.SHA256SUMS: SHA-256 checksums of the three binaries.
Install the APK, start the desktop client, connect a USB data cable and accept Android's accessory prompt. Follow the platform setup guide for reader drivers and USB permissions. macOS Intel/Apple Silicon currently requires a source build and vsmartcard setup; no macOS binaries are included.
Verified
The Windows x64 release client and APK completed a real PC/SC → CCID → loopback USB/IP → USB AOA → Pixel 6 Pro → physical NFC FIDO key exchange. The read-only FIDO SELECT returned
U2F_V2 90 00. App background/resume, desktop restart, USB reconnect and accessory driver repair were also exercised. See the hardware test report.Ten Rust tests passed on Windows and Ubuntu WSL. Rust formatting/clippy and Android's four protocol tests, APK build and lint passed.
Preview limitations
Windows restricts direct FIDO SELECT through PC/SC from ordinary processes; the read-only FIDO probe required elevation, while the bridge ran normally. PC/SC transport alone does not guarantee browser WebAuthn/passkey compatibility. Browser WebAuthn, native Linux USB/NFC, native macOS and ARM64 driver loading remain unverified.
Project code is MIT-licensed. Platform drivers are separate dependencies, installed/downloaded separately and not bundled in these artifacts.
